1989-1980
1989
  • Commenced design and assembly of Machine Micro Lenses (MML) at Urawa factory.
 
1988
  • Established a long term agreement with ICI Stratos U.K. to supply FC/PC optical connectors to British Telecom and other telecom companies.
  • Created the Imaging & Optical Instruments Department and a factory in Yono in Saitama for the development and production of ScopemanTM.
 
1987
  • Established Moritex U.S.A., Inc. In San Diego, California.
  • Initiated development of a CCD microscope.
 
1986
  • Started polishing glass ball lenses at Tamagawa factory.
 
1985
  • Established branch offices in Kyoto in February and Fukuoka in July.
  • Started drawing compound glass optical fibers at Tamagawa factory.
 
1984
  • Moved head office to a larger facility in Sakuraga-oka, Shibuya-Ku, Tokyo.
 
1982
  • Acquired NTT's FC and PM optical connector manufacturing license.
 
1981
  • Established the Tamagawa factory in Saitama Prefecture.
  • Initiated marketing of Acheson's electro-conductive paste for membrane switches.
  • Created a partnership agreement with Stratos AB of Sweden.
 
1980
  • Formed a sales agreement with TSL of the U.K. for the sales of their optical fiber preforms, rods and tubes.
  • Formed an exclusive sales agreement with Bal Seal Engineering of the U.S.
  • Initiated import of microspheres from Duke Scientific of the U.S.
